Typography:
Typography is more than choosing a font—it's the art of communicating through letterforms. From headlines and branding to publication layouts and promotional materials, I explore how typography creates hierarchy, improves readability, and strengthens visual communication. Each project reflects my growing understanding of type as both a design element and a storytelling tool.
Garamond Font Booklet
I was reintroduced to typography while studying Graphic Design at Central Washington University, and it quickly became one of my favorite areas of design. I discovered that typography is much more than simply choosing a font—it's about using letterforms as a creative and expressive design element.
This project explores the beauty, history, and versatility of the Garamond typeface through a thoughtfully designed booklet. It demonstrates my growing appreciation for typography, layout, and visual storytelling while showcasing how type can communicate both information and emotion.

The Arial typeface was created in 1982 by Robin Nicholas and Patricia Saunders. It was designed as a clean, highly readable sans-serif typeface optimized for lower-resolution computer displays, making it one of the most widely used fonts in digital communication.
Project: Arial Typeface Poster
Role: Graphic Designer
Tools Used: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
About the Project:
This poster was created as part of my Beginning Typography course at Central Washington University. The assignment challenged me to explore the Arial typeface through composition, hierarchy, and visual communication. By using typography as the primary design element, I learned how spacing, alignment, scale, and contrast can transform a familiar typeface into an engaging visual design.
💜 A Personal Interest:
Typography has been one of my favorite areas of graphic design for many years. My interest in type inspired me to create a personal typography reference guide filled with notes, examples, and design principles that I continue to use as I learn and grow as a designer.
To me, typography is more than selecting a typeface—it's about creating hierarchy, improving readability, and communicating personality through thoughtful design.
